Welcome to Swimming Head!

We are the team behind the lens, specialising in quick-fire, short documentary films with a focus on the natural world and our connection with it. Alongside producing our own stories, we also produce commissioned content for clients, including the Discovery Channel, the BBC & Irish Lights. If you’d like to learn more about us, check out the website or if you have any queries please get in touch!

Dr Tasha Phillips

Marine Biologist, Storyteller & Writer

Tasha is a conservation biologist who specialises in the tracking of big fish, including tuna, sunfish and sharks! Alongside her scientific research, she has developed a passion for journalistic storytelling to explore exciting research about the natural world. She is a National Geographic Explorer and a member of the Pioneers of the High Seas group, focused on raising awareness of current conservation concerns and the wonders of nature.

Dr Lawrence Eagling

Marine Biologist, Photographer & Film-maker

Lawrence is a marine biologist based in Northern Ireland, and has been a keen photographer since first receiving a plastic toy camera at six. When he’s not behind the lens, Lawrence is a keen traveller and his work in sustainable technology takes him all over the world. He combines his passions for technology and nature by using photography as a platform to explore new stories in conservation ecology and travel.

When not chasing big fish or designing underwater survey systems, Tasha and Lawrence live near the wild, green Irish Sea in Belfast with their rescue dog Herbie.
